Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc., is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization.  We are an all-volunteer group dedicated to providing assistance to people needing to rehome their dog or dogs.  We help as many dogs as we can in these situations.  We also serve as a resource to local dog wardens by providing shelter for stray dogs they find or are called about.

Canine Rescue was formed in 2002 and we have made tremendous progress in establishing ourselves as a valuable resource for dogs as well as the community.  It is our mission to get involved in as many situations as possible to provide sanctuary, shelter, and homes to dogs in need.

We also focus on creating strategic partnerships with other rescues and similar organizations in an attempt to share resources and expand public awareness of the overwhelming problem of homeless animals.

Our adoption process encompasses several steps in an attempt to ensure the best possible placement of an animal in an appropriate home. Our adoption fee is $318.00 and an adoption application and agreement must be completed.  Each applicant's veterinarian is contacted as a reference and a home visit may be required.  All members of the family including other dogs must meet the dog of interest.  *PLEASE NOTE: we like to adopt our dogs to families who live within one to two hours travel time of our facility.

All of our dogs are up to date on immunizations, are heart worm tested, and are spayed or neutered. Volunteers walk and socialize our dogs and we readily work with trainers using force-free methods if a dog is in need.
