Why Should I Help?
The problem of homeless dogs in Central PA is a major concern. The photos above represent some of the dogs that are either currently available at Canine Rescue or that have been recently adopted. Every day Canine Rescue's Adoption Coordinator receives phone calls throughout the day from people who want to give up their dog(s), the dog wardens who have found a dog(s), other shelters who are filled to capacity and desperately need Canine Rescue's help plus others. Canine Rescue is a no-kill sanctuary that provides loving care including medical care until a forever home is found. Canine Rescue also makes sure that the dogs are going into good homes through home visits and vet checks. They contract with trainers and behaviorists that work with the dogs and help not only people who are adopting a dog but also people who may be surrendering their dog because of behavior problems. This may help to prevent them from having to give up their dog.
